Dashcam Footage Shows Alleged Drunk Driver Nearly Crashing Car

Queensland police warned motorists of the danger of drunken driving as they shared dashcam footage from a member of the public of a car swerving across a road and nearly crashing into roadworks barriers.

Police shared dashcam footage June 16 that they said was taken June 9 by a member of the public on the Gateway Motorway at Nudgee, Queensland.
Authorities said the motorist who took the footage called police at the time of the incident. Queensland police were able to intercept the vehicle and arrested a 40-year-old Caboolture woman, whom they found had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.297 – almost six times the legal limit.

She was arrested and is scheduled to appear in court June 30 on charges of high range drink driving and driving without a driver’s license. Her car was impounded.

“With school holidays approaching police are reminding the public that drink driving is not only a criminal offence, but one of the major contributors of road deaths and injury crashes,” police said in a statement.

“Motorists are urged to re-think getting behind the wheel after consuming alcohol and make sure everyone arrives home safe from their journey.” Credit: Facebook/Queensland Police Service via Storyful
