Deputy Hit By 'Fast-Moving Truck' During Edgewater Traffic Stop

Volusia Sheriff’s Office has released bodycam footage showing the moment one of its deputies was struck by a passing vehicle during a traffic stop in Edgewater, Florida.

The officer, named as Deputy Liles, was speaking to a driver of a car when what police called a “fast-moving truck” drove by, striking Liles with its mirror, footage released by the department on April 15 shows.

The deputy quickly returned to his vehicle and pursued the truck, catching up with the driver. Police did not give details of the driver’s identity or if charges were pressed. Credit: Volusia Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
