Determined Puppy Won't Let Snow Stop His Newspaper-Fetching Efforts

Golden Pyrenees puppy, Kazak, is a new addition to the Ratcliff home in Woodland Park, Colorado, but as this February 7 video shows, there will be no free suppers, as he’ll be expected to fetch the paper every day, no matter the weather conditions.

The Ratcliffs already have a nine-year-old golden Pyrenees named Winston, that has been “retrieving the newspaper every morning since he was little.”

Now, according to John W Ratcliff, who shot this footage of Kazak’s first attempt at the task, it’s time for Winston “to train the puppy to take over the job,” as Winston is getting older and has arthritis.

Three-month-old Kazak didn’t let the seven inches of snow that hit the area the day previously stop his efforts either, getting the newspaper to the front door after a few pit-stops.

Winston should be proud of his trainee’s efforts, with the excited pup doing a solid job on day one, and by day three he was continuing his good work taking a relatively-deviation-free route back to the Ratcliff home with the daily news gripped in his mouth. Credit: John W Ratcliff via Storyful
