Doctor Receives Australia's First Dose of AstraZeneca Vaccine

A doctor in regional South Australia became the first Australian to receive the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on Friday, March 5.

This video, uploaded by SA Health, shows senior doctor Caroline Phegan receiving the jab with a smile at Murray Bridge Hospital on Friday morning. Phegan gave a peace sign to the cameras after the vaccine was administered, telling reporters she “couldn’t feel it at all”.

According to local media reports, Phegan said she was immunocompromised, making her particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. Credit: SA Health via Storyful
