DWP turning 'deaf ear' to Universal Credit claimants

The Chair of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has accused the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) of "turning a deaf ear" to claimants of Universal Credit, organisations representing benefits advisers and the DWP's own staff. The PAC says the Department of Work and Pensions has persistently dismissed evidence that Universal Credit is causing hardship for claimants and additional burdens for local organisations. Meg Hillier MP said the PAC was concerned with a "huge culture of indifference" at the DWP.
