Early Voting Begins in Washington One Week Before Presidential Election

Voters in Washington lined up on Tuesday, October 27, on the first day of voting in the district, just one week before the November 3 presidential election.

Chef Jose Andres with World Central Kitchen shared this footage of the line of early voters “a couple blocks long” at the Capital One Arena voting site.

Volunteers with World Central Kitchen handed out breakfast sandwiches as part of its #ChefsForThePolls initiative, “a non-partisan effort that will provide meals for communities on Election Day and during early voting,” a representative told Storyful.

Lines were also reported at Washington’s Union Market poll location on Tuesday morning. Credit: World Central Kitchen via Storyful
