Education minister: School meal shortages ‘a concern’

Minister for Children Will Quince says that food shortages in schools are “a concern” and that he is “very much staying on top of this issue.” An industry survey of school caterers across England and Wales has found that, due to a combination of rising food costs, supply chain issues and inadequate funding for school food, children are missing out on school lunches. Ninety percent of caterers are experiencing food shortages whilst four in five caterers have had to change their menus or reduce menu options.
