Fire Department Warns of Choppy Waters on Lake Erie as Severe Weather Moves Into Ohio

The fire department in Sandusky, in northeastern Ohio, issued a public warning for people to stay off the waters of Lake Erie on Wednesday, September 22, sharing footage of their fireboat lurching along amid strong wind and rain in Sandusky Bay.

The footage, posted to the official Facebook page of City of Sandusky Fire Department, shows two crew members patrolling the waters. “There’s nobody else out here, except Tommy and I,” says the videographer to his colleague, who smiles in agreement.

According to the National Weather Service, a tornado watch was issued for parts of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia on Wednesday. Credit: City of Sandusky Fire Department via Storyful
