Firefighter Footage Shows Helitanker Protecting National Park During KNP Complex Fire

Fire crews in Southern California’s Sequoia National Park worked to battle the KNP Complex fire on September 23.

The fire started on September 10 after a lightning strike. Crews have continued to work hard to secure the safety of some of Sequoia National Park’s most famous trees, as well as National Park infrastructure.

This video was captured by Rilee Nilsson, a firefighter on the Yosemite Wildland Fire Module Unit.

The striking footage, which she said was captured on September 23 in Sequoia National Park shows a helitanker dropping retardant “to help protect the infrastructure in the park headquarters”.
