Firefighters Battle to Contain Dixie Fire in California's Plumas County

Firefighters battled to contain the Dixie Fire in northern California as the blaze grew to 244,888 acres on August 1.

Fire behavior was expected to worsen as dry conditions and persistent winds affected the wildfire. Around 5,563 fire personnel were attending to the fire.
