Floodwaters Rush Through Ellicott City, Maryland

Severe flooding hit Ellicott City, Maryland, on Saturday, July 30, trapping vehicles and damaging homes and businesses. Authorities evacuated people from flooded areas on the Main Street and relocated them to the Roger Carter Community Center. Forecasters issued a flash flood warning for parts of Baltimore, Howard, Montgomery, Anne Arundel Counties and recorded six inches of rain in Ellicott City.
