Fly Fire Ignites Near Dixie Fire in California

Firefighters worked to contain the Fly Fire near Quincy, California, on July 23, after it ignited the day prior around 5 pm near the raging Dixie Fire.

The 1,650-acre Fly Fire was zero percent contained on Friday morning, the US Forest Service said. Local reports said the Fly Fire prompted a closure of Highway 70, and the flames were “hit heavy” by aircraft tackling the blaze.
