Two children and two adults were taken to hospital after an explosion shook a Scottish housing estate in Ayr on Monday evening, October 18, police said.

South Ayrshire Police said emergency services were called to the blast in Kincaidston’s Gorse Park at around 7.10pm on Monday. They said four houses were affected but that a number of other premises were evacuated.

According to Scotland’s Daily Record newspaper, at least one house was entirely destroyed in the explosion.
