Greenpeace Activists Paint Plane in Paris Airport 'Greenwashing' Protest

Greenpeace activists painted part of an Air France airplane green at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris on March 5 in a protest over what the organization called the French government’s “greenwashing on air transport”.

In a post explaining the action, Greenpeace said it came days ahead of parliamentary debates on a climate bill, and said, “we would like to firmly remind you that the technological innovations so much praised by the Minister for Transport, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, will not be enough to stem the climate crisis.”

In footage posted by Greenpeace, activists are seen approaching then painting the airplane. One of the activists then addresses Djebbari in a piece to camera, saying that the activists were occupied with greenwashing the plane, skiping a “masquerade” and moving to a resolution.
