Hamilton Musician on the joys of getting back to work: 'It's just great to hear this music played again'

Richard Hammond, musician with the smash Broadway hit 'Hamilton', talks to Yahoo Finance's Alexis Christoforous about what it's like to be back to work, after an 18 month pandemic-related shutdown. Hammond has been with the show since it opened on Broadway. He spoke with Yahoo Finance as part of a 2-hour live special, 'Broadway is Back'.

RICHARD HAMMOND: I'm the bass player at "Hamilton."

ALEXIS CHRISTOFOROUS: Talk to me about the COVID protocols you as musicians have had to take.

RICHARD HAMMOND: "Hamilton" is taking COVID protocols really seriously. We all have to be vaccinated. Fortunately, none of us are playing wind instruments.

ALEXIS CHRISTOFOROUS: OK.

RICHARD HAMMOND: So it's all strings or percussion.

ALEXIS CHRISTOFOROUS: So everybody can stay masked while playing the music.

RICHARD HAMMOND: Right.

ALEXIS CHRISTOFOROUS: What are you looking forward to the most when the curtain goes back up?

RICHARD HAMMOND: Feeling the anticipation during those first few opening bars. It's pretty cool.
