'Happy Chanukah': Edmonton Oilers Player Zach Hyman Lights Giant Menorah

Edmonton Oilers player Zach Hyman was lifted to light the top of a giant menorah in Edmonton in a ceremony to mark the start of Hanukkah on November 28.

The event took place by the Holocaust memorial in the Alberta Legislature Grounds, with local news reporting the menorah to be 21 feet tall and 5,000 lbs in weight.

Edmonton Mayor Amarjeet Sohi posted this footage on Twitter, wishing a “Happy Chanukah to Edmonton’s Jewish community,” and adding “May you all have a light-filled and prosperous holiday season.” Credit: Amarjeet Sohi via Storyful
