A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the New York boroughs of Brooklyn and Staten Island, and parts of New Jersey on the evening of August 22, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning was issued until 9.15 pm and flash flooding was reported in the streets of Manhattan by Spectrum News.
