Hillary Clinton launches global climate fund in India

STORY: "Now you face an additional challenge - the challenge that climate change presents of heat; heat like we have never seen before," Clinton told the crowd.

The former U.S. Secretary of State is on a trip to western Gujarat state to pay homage to SEWA's founder Elaben Bhatt who passed on November 2, 2022.

Clinton first visited the SEWA headquarters in Ahmedabad as the U.S. First Lady in 1995.

At the U.N. climate summit in Glasgow last year, developed countries agreed to double support for adaptation financing to $40 billion per year by 2025.

India is the world's third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases after China and the United States - though it is much lower down the rankings of emissions per capita, according to Our World Data.
