Home Security Camera Captures Mountain Lion Prowling Through Texas Backyard

A mountain lion was spotted wandering through a Texas neighborhood in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 22.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) confirmed the sighting of the mountain lion, which was caught on two separate cameras in the Dalrock neighborhood between Highway 66 and Miller Road.

Rowlett resident Logan Aduddell shared this footage of the big cat slinking past his house.

Biologists with the TPWD told local media that the mountain lion was likely a “transient juvenile male” seeking a new home, and was likely only passing through the area. While mountain lion attacks on people and pets are rare, the TPWD suggested Rowlett-area residents keep their pets indoors at night and “secure their trash.” Credit: Logan Aduddell via Storyful
