Houthis Claim To Shoot Down Drone Over Saada

A Houthi-affiliated media outlet reported on April 19 that Houthi forces had shot down a drone over Yemen’s Saada Governorate.

Al-Masirah reported that the object shot down was an American surveillance drone, while the pro-Houthi Yemen War Media, which shared this footage, said the drone was a Chinese-manufactured Wing Loong. Storyful has not yet verified who manufactured or operated the drone.

This footage here shows a drone falling from the sky in flames, before cutting to images of a flaming drone in agricultural land. People then surround and explore the drone, tearing it apart.

Earlier in the week, United States President Donald Trump vetoed a congressional resolution to end US involvement in the war in Yemen. Credit: Yemen War Media via Storyful
