Protesters were seen waving rainbow flags and carrying banners with signs reading "You cannot ban us" and "Gay love is okay".

The ruling Fidesz party tacked a proposal banning school talks on LGBTQ issues such as gender change to a widely-backed separate law that strictly penalizes pedophilia, making it difficult for opponents to vote against it.

Legal officer working at the Hungarian Helsinki Committee Zsolt Szekeres said that Orban’s government is ripping apart families under the mask of acting against pedophiles.
