Illinois Police Traffic Stop Turns Into Marriage Proposal

A motorist in Oswego, Illinois, made the most of a recent police traffic stop when he proposed to his partner.

According to an Oswego Police Department spokeswoman, Officer Jordan Lombardi stopped a vehicle citing equipment issues.

After Lombardi carried out the stop, the man discreetly asked him to take part in the marriage proposal. Lombardi then went over to the vehicle and asked the man’s partner to get out.

Police dashcam footage captured what happened next, as the man got down on one knee and proposed. Thankfully, he was accepted, with some bystanders at a drive-thru honking their approval. Credit: Oswego Police Department via Storyful
