India's 'Oxygen Express' delivers life-saving gas

The train pulled into the Kanpur railway station, with eight tankers carrying 80 tonnes of liquid oxygen, which will be then dispatched to hospitals in the city facing oxygen shortages.

The country's rampaging second wave of COVID-19 continues to send patients in the country's overburdened hospitals facing acute shortages of beds and medical oxygen.

International aid has poured into India in response to the crisis as the country's health system struggles to cope under the weight of surging COVID-19 cases.

India has been receiving foreign aid, included oxygen generators, as well as respirators, medications and other medical equipment.
