K9 Takes First Steps Despite Fears He Might Never Walk Again

It was feared that a K9 would never be able to walk again following surgery back in March, but the determined dog has since made his first steps to recovery.

Footage from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office on June 26 shows police dog Hondo using a walker to get his hind legs moving.

According to the post, Hondo had a very slim chance of walking again after undergoing four surgeries to correct herniated discs in his back.

“With the dedication, care and support of the entire Sheriff’s Office, Dr Bell, Dr Kelso and the staff of North County Animal Hospital and Dr Adamo and the staff at Beacon Veterinary Specialists, we are proud to say Hondo has literally taken his first steps to recovery,” the post said.
