BRIAN SOZZI: Attention, Kmart shoppers. Well, not exactly. New York Post, Emily, highlighting this story, that Kmart is only down to three locations in the United States after a store in Avenel, New Jersey is closing up shop. Really, one of the only stores in my neighborhood is in Bridgehampton, probably a half hour from me. I'm going to go visit the store, and I need some final pictures because the bottom line is, it's likely Kmart will soon vanish from the areas across the United States and essentially just become a Wikipedia page. Terrible shopping experience, terrible story, awful.

EMILY MCCORMICK: Right, Brian, Kmart really going the way of Blockbusters here. Kmart, I mean, I think just kind of thinking about this brand, really stuck in the middle here. Wasn't quite as entrenched as an everyday, low price type chain like a Walmart had really established itself.

Probably even more notably, it didn't really develop an e-commerce presence over the past couple of decades, like a Walmart, Target, or Amazon. We did just have a Kmart near our office in New York City. I actually liked it as a quick place to grab stationery, article of clothing if I needed one on the fly, but as you mentioned, clearly those numbers of remaining Kmart stores are dwindling.
