Lightning Bolt Strikes Tree Just Meters From Texas Home

A Texas resident captured the moment a lightning bolt struck a tree trunk in Humble, Texas, on August 4.

Justin Howard recorded a video that showed him enjoying a heavy storm in the area. “I’m a California kid, I love a good Texas storm,” Howard can be heard saying in the video. Suddenly, a bright flash rips through a nearby tree as a thundering sound echoes in the background.

“This just happened to the tree in our front yard!!!” Howard wrote in a Facebook post that featured the video.
