and the first one in the Middle East

60 statues of celebrities from across the world are on display

(SOUNDBITE) (English) GENERAL MANAGER FOR MADAME TUSSAUDS DUBAI, SANAZ KOLLSRUD, SAYING:"We also have 16 new wax figures that were made specially for Madame Tussauds Dubai, those are 16 figures from the Middle East, so we have the likes of singing sensation, Nancy Ajram, we have Balqees, we also have various popular middle eastern figures from sports and all over industries."

Making wax figures come to life is not easy

(SOUNDBITE) (English) GENERAL MANAGER FOR MADAME TUSSAUDS DUBAI, SANAZ KOLLSRUD, SAYING: "Making a single wax figure takes around four to seven months, there is twenty skilled artists involved in making the figures, they are sculptors, they are hair and make-up artists, they are special wax artists, painters. The artists will do somewhere around 500 different measurements."
