by using ropes to scale trees to harvest honey

He fell in love with the ancient tradition aged 13

(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) WILD BEE HONEY HUNTER, ILDAR YAGAFAROV, SAYING:

"This is an ancient trade, the wild beehives are in the trees, some of the hives are left over from our ancestors. And they are 150 to 200 years old. These trees are still alive, still growing and giving us joy with their bees and their honey."

The location of the wild hives is kept secret

and is passed down the generations
