Meta stock: Wall Street focused on cost cuts ahead of Q4 earnings

Yahoo Finance Live anchors break down what to watch from Meta earnings.

Video transcript

BRAD SMITH: But as for me, I'm watching Meta. Big earnings report from that company. And, really, I think this is the first quarter where you could start to see some of these cost-cutting initiatives bear fruit in the company's bottom line. I think the Street is very focused on how these cost cuts will weigh on profits as the year goes along.

Good chart here from Brent Thill over at Jefferies looking at some of the cost cuts Meta has made since December, and one of them just interesting here. It looks like they're really not leaving any stone unturned to save some money there. Actually this month they laid off more than a hundred cafeteria workers at Meta.

So something worth noting there as well. But again, to what extent and quarter do these efforts collectively start to improve profits? I think is very much in focus for the stock.
