Yahoo Finance's Seana Smith joined Yahoo Finance Live to break down Moderna's breaking news how their vaccine is reportedly 90% effective 6 months after the 2nd shot.

SEANA SMITH: Jared, I'm going to be keeping a close eye on any of the headlines coming out on COVID, of course, on the heels of the news we got today from J&J. We also had breaking news here after hours from Moderna saying that its vaccine was more than 90% effective at protecting against COVID-19 six months after the second dose and more than 95% effective against severe disease. The data includes cases through April 9. And they evaluated over 900 cases of COVID-19, including more than 100 severe cases. So you can see Moderna shares moving higher here after hours, up just around 1 and 1/2%.
