Molotov Cocktail Thrown Into Bank in Hong Kong as Protests Intensify
Protesters threw accelerant and a Molotov cocktail into a Bank of China branch in Hong Kong on October 4 as violent protests intensified after the government announced plans to ban people from wearing masks at public assemblies, local media reported.
Carrie Lam, Hong Kong’s chief executive, announced the plans under mounting pressure to put an end to months of civil unrest. Since the announcement, buildings around Hong Kong have been vandalized and set on fire.
In a video uploaded by Campus TV, one protester throws a Molotov cocktail through a shattered glass storefront into the lobby of a Bank of China branch in the city, and another tosses accelerant in.
