Netflix’s ‘Knives Out’ sequel to be released in movie theaters

Yahoo Finance Live anchors discuss the upcoming release of Netflix's 'Knives Out' sequel.

BRAD SMITH: You hear the music. You know what time it is. Time for "Cut for Time," two stories, one minute each. We start with this. Netflix heads to the big screen. The sequel of "Knives Out" will be released in theaters for one week around Thanksgiving before debuting on the streaming platform-- interesting.

Now this is the first for the company, which has long been against giving theaters an early release here. However, it's done tandem releases in the past. "Mudbound" was one of those theatrical productions that also released in tandem on Netflix, one of the first, I believe, that they actually tested with that. And "Knives Out," I've seen the first one. I think this is--

JULIE HYMAN: So good.

BRAD SMITH: Yes.

JULIE HYMAN: I'm excited about this. I don't know that I'll go and see it in the theater, but.

BRAD SMITH: [INAUDIBLE] coming out one week later.

JULIE HYMAN: Right, exactly. So I don't know what the impetus is. Sozz?

BRIAN SOZZI: Hey, if the James Bond guy is in it, I'm watching. Never heard of this thing before, but--

JULIE HYMAN: Whoa.

BRIAN SOZZI: [INAUDIBLE]

JULIE HYMAN: You never saw the last "Knives Out"?

BRIAN SOZZI: Never even heard of it.

BRAD SMITH: You gotta see that.

BRIAN SOZZI: But I'm excited about this. I like James Bond. I like Daniel Craig.

JULIE HYMAN: He's a very far cry from James Bond in this movie. Let me just tell you that.

BRIAN SOZZI: I gotcha.

JULIE HYMAN: Yeah, yeah, definitely. Oh.
