Nor'easter Produces Rough Waters and Unmoors Boats Along Massachusetts Coast

A nor’easter blew high winds of up to 88 mph along the coast of Massachusetts on Wednesday, October 27, as hundreds of thousands of people were left without power across the state.

This footage released by Plymouth Harbormaster Department, the city’s emergency search and rescue team, shows minor flooding after boats broke free from their moorings, according to the department. The last clip, filmed by a crew aboard the vessel Meander, shows rough waters on Wednesday morning.

“The owner had been at the helm for over 48 hours trying to maintain position after his mooring started to drag,” the department wrote in a tweet. “The decision was made to bring the owner to shore. Wind and sea conditions made the evac extremely difficult!”
