Northern California Residents Evacuate Plumas County as Dixie Fire Spreads

The Dixie fire reached 428 square miles on Wednesday, August 4, as new evacuation orders were issued in Plumas County, California, according to fire officials.

The fire was 35 percent contained, officials said.

As of Wednesday, the fire had destroyed 45 structures, 22 minor structures, and damaged five others, fire officials said.
