One Dead, Four Missing after Leverkusen Explosion

One person was killed and two people seriously injured in Leverkusen, Germany, on July 27, after an explosion and fire at a chemical site, officials said.

16 people were injured in total, with four people missing, the report added. Currenta, the operator of the site, said “operations…have been brought into a safe condition”.

Public officials issued an “extreme danger” warning after the explosion and urged residents to close their windows and doors, dpa reported.
