Roads Swept Away as Parts of New South Wales Hit by Flooding After Days of Heavy Rain

Flooding prompted hundreds of New South Wales residents to request help from emergency services by Sunday, November 28, after heavy rain hit the southeastern Australian state.

On Saturday, more than 30 people had been rescued from floodwaters over two days, local media reported. Evacuation orders were issued for several parts of the state.

Footage by Maria Hunt shows flooding in Mullaley, a village in Gunnedah Shire, New South Wales, on September 27.

Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology said flooding along the Namoi River, which runs through Gunnedah, may continue into Monday and early next week. Credit: Maria Hunt via Storyful
