Poland Says Border Spotlights Smashed by Shots From Belarus Side

Poland’s defense ministry said on December 1 that spotlights set up along the border with Belarus were destroyed overnight by shots from “pneumatic weapons” fired from the Belarus side.

Images released by the ministry showed the smashed lights, which were said to be in Terespol. Poland’s defense ministry, Mariusz Błaszczak, called the incident an “absolutely unacceptable” provocation. Belarusian defense representatives would be summoned to “present explanations”, he said.

The International Organization for Migration said on November 29 that 2,000 migrants remained at the border. The Polish border force said 102 crossing attempts were made on November 30. Credit: Polish Ministry of Defense via Storyful
