Police Respond as Shots Fired at Indiana Walmart

Shots were fired at a Walmart in Beech Grove, Indiana, on Saturday, April 17, during an attempt to arrest a suspected shoplifter.

The Indy Star quoted the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department as saying a shopper fired their weapon after the suspect pulled a gun while resisting the arrest attempt by an off-duty police officer who was working security.

The suspect was apprehended when another member of the public stopped his getaway, police said.
