Promenade Walls Destroyed as Storm Barra Hits Isle of Man

Storm Barra battered much of the United Kingdom and Ireland with strong winds and heavy rain on Tuesday, December 7, with severe weather continuing on Wednesday.

This footage, posted on Twitter by user @meraki_iom on December 8, shows the collapsed wall on the promenade in Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man.

The gardens on the promenade would remain closed to the public for the foreseeable future while infrastructure damage is assessed and clearance of the gardens is completed, the Douglas Borough Council said.
