Roads Inundated and Travel Disrupted Amid Widespread Flooding in Northwest England

Roads in England’s Lake District and Cumbria were flooded as the Met Office issued “danger to life” warnings amid heavy rain on Thursday, October 28, local media reported.

The Met Office warned that the floodwater could damage buildings as it issued an amber weather warning for the region.

As much as 322 mm (12.7 inches) of rain fell in Cumbria’s Honister Pass in 32 hours, the Met Office said.

Video posted by Honister Slate Mine shows flooded roads in the Cumbrian village of Borrowdale.
