Rubens’s masterpiece paintings reunited at London museum

For the first time in more than 200 years, two masterpieces painted as a pair by the Flemish artist Rubens, have been reunited. ‘The Rainbow Landscape’ and ‘A View of Het Steen in the Early Morning’, are sweeping panoramic works showing his home between Brussels and Antwerp as it was in about 1636. After his death, the paintings were auctioned off separately in London in 1803. But now, the paintings are on display together at last as part of an exhibition at The Wallace Collection in London.
