San Diego Firefighters Manage 'Dangerous' Brush Fire

Firefighters in San Diego, California, worked “through the night” June 23 into June 24 fighting a brush fire that had spread over 350 acres, Cal Fire San Diego said.

Footage shows the Mesa Fire, which started in the community of Pala Mesa some time before 3 pm on Wednesday afternoon, Cal Fire San Diego said, and was burning along US State Route 76 at “a dangerous rate of speed.” By 7 pm, the fire had grown to 350 acres and was zero percent contained.

Earlier evacuation warnings issued for surrounding residents were lifted as of 8:45 pm, officials said.
