Several Killed, Dozens Wounded in Bombing at Kabul University

An explosion near Kabul University on the morning of July 19 killed at least eight people and wounded more than 30, a Ministry of Public Health official cited by Tolo News said.

A spokesman for the Interior Ministry, Nasrat Rahimi, blamed the Taliban. However, Tolo said the Taliban had denied involvement. Kabul police said the explosion was due to a magnetic IED placed in the area.

The blast happened as students were gathered at the gates of the university, waiting to take an exam, Tolo said. Credit: Tolo News via Storyful
