Severe Storm Leaves Coastal Louisiana Residents Without Power and Water

Residents in Grand Isle, Louisiana, were left without power and running water after a severe thunderstorm hit the area on Tuesday, April 13, local media reported.

The storm knocked out power for the island and damaged backup generators with the earliest restoration estimate set for Wednesday evening, NOLA.com said.

The outages also caused water issues, with Jefferson Parish announcing a boil-water advisory as well as a water service interruption for the island, officials said.

The National Weather Service said the storm brought winds of up to 70 mph plus large hail and heavy rainfall.
