Sir Keir Starmer accuses Boris Johnson of sitting on his hands as COVID ripped through country

The Prime Minister has been accused of “sitting on his hands” for 17 days as coronavirus ripped through the country.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer told Boris Johnson on Wednesday his indecision had been costly with 17,000 people dying from COVID and one million being infected since he declared at the last PMQs on 16 December there had been a significant reduction in the virus.

Starmer asked how the PM “got it so wrong and why was he so slow to act” when announcing a third national lockdown.
