Snowstorm Shutters 'Nonessential Services' in Albuquerque

Parts of Albuquerque, New Mexico, have shut down after a storm left the city blanketed in snow on Tuesday, October 27, local media reported.

Reports said “nonessential services” and city offices were shuttered in both Albuquerque and nearby Rio Rancho. In Albuquerque, reports said snowplows were clearing icy roads, trash and recycling pickup were canceled for the day, and some bus service was suspended.

The National Weather Service said about three to four inches of snow accumulated in Albuquerque by the early hours of Tuesday. Eight to 12 inches of snow were reported in other central New Mexico cities.
