Snowy Grand Canyon Shrouded by 'Partial Cloud Inversion'

The snow-dusted Grand Canyon was filled with low clouds during a partial cloud inversion on Sunday, January 24, video from the Grand Canyon National Park Service shows.

According to My Grand Canyon Park the partial cloud, or temperature, inversion usually occurs in the canyon in winter when warm air covers cold air, trapping clouds in the canyon.

The Grand Canyon National Park Service warned that a larger storm was approaching the area on Monday and was expected to create hazardous travel conditions. Credit: Grand Canyon NPS via Storyful
