Yahoo Finance Live anchor Seana Smith highlights which stocks are making moves in after-hours trading, including Starbucks and Tesla.

Video transcript

SEANA SMITH: All right, let's take a look at some of these afterhour movers here in afterhours trading. We have Starbucks, Tesla, and Vail Resorts for you. Let's kick it off with Starbucks. Some news here that the company is increasing its quarterly dividend, upping it to $0.53 from $0.49.

This goes into effect November 25 to shareholders on record as of November 11. It raises the annual dividend to $2.12 a share. Starbucks initiated its dividend back in 2010 and has raised it every year since for the past 12 years. You can see three months of the chart, the stock up just around 14%. A year to date look there, shares still in the red, off about 25%.

Let's take a look at Tesla, another mover here afterhours. Some news naming Joe Gebbia, the co-founder of Airbnb, as an independent board director. Spent 14 years with Airbnb, stepped back from his full-time role over the summer. And now he will be joining Tesla's board as an independent director.

Taking a look at Tesla's performance, year to date, off about 18%. Over the past six months or so, we have seen Tesla climb-- or six months, you can see off just about 20%. Let's take a look at the three-month chart because that's a bit of a different picture, up just around 23%. So we're seeing some of that momentum return to Tesla.

Vail Resorts rounding it out here. The stock popping afterhours. Some pretty strong results from the company. Revenue coming in better than expected. Also reporting a smaller than expected loss. Sales for the quarter up 31% on a year over year basis to 267.1 million. This stock off just around 7 and 1/2% over the past three months. Year to date, still off 35%.
