Streets Flood as Northern New South Wales Gets Drenched With Rain

The streets of Gulmarrad in northern New South Wales flooded after the region was drenched in torrential rains on January 18.

The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Northern Rivers district, near the New South Wales-Queensland border, with intense and heavy rains predicted on Friday morning.

The coastal town of Yamba, near Gulmarrad, had received 92 mm of rain in the past 24 hours by midday, while further north some areas had received up to 250 mm of rain by the morning.
