Surveillance Footage Captures Moment of Explosion at Beechcraft Plant in Kansas

More than a dozen people were injured when an explosion caused part of a building to collapse at the Beechcraft aircraft manufacturing facility in Wichita, Kansas, on December 27, authorities said.

Stephanie Harder, a spokeswoman for Beechcraft’s parent company, Textron Aviation, said the explosion occurred when a three-inch nitrogen line ruptured at around 8 am at the facility.

Eleven people were taken to hospital, one with potentially serious injuries, and four were treated at the scene, authorities said. This footage was taken from the surveillance cameras of Orr Nissan Of Wichita, a nearby business. Credit: Orr Nissan Of Wichita via Storyful
